"You'll love our little Ivan. He's such an easy boy to love."
Short of money after moving to London, Jennifer Griffith accepts a job babysitting for a wealthy couple. When she arrives at their house, however, she quickly learns that this particular baby isn't quite what he seems.
Although she agrees to go through with the job for one night, it doesn't take long before she starts to regret her choice. Something dark lurks in the shadows of the house, something that wants something from Jennifer. Something that won't let go, not even after she heads home...
A House in London is a horror novella about a girl who always dreamed of a house in London, and who finally discovers a nightmare waiting in the shadows.

I read the blurb and thought it sounded like something else I’d read so I had to give this a go.Creepy it is and I had a blast. Thought I knew what was really happening but I should have used more imagination. The author sure did.
A read straight through book and one of those that makes you worry about turning out the lights.

A House in London eBook Amy Cross Reviews
I love Amy Cross's writing. This book was thrilling as well as a exciting read.
I LOVE HER BOOKS BUT THIS IS THE ONLY ONE I DIDNT LIKE SO MUCH
It's a book that you can't put down ,from the beginning to the end of this book it holds your attention. When it came to the end I wished it would have continued to see what becomes if Jennifer and her " baby ".
I read this book in one sitting because I had to see what happened next. It was a real page turner, that's for sure! There were some grammatical errors and missing words, and one time the character of Vivian was called "Violent", but this book was edited better than, say, "At the Edge of the Forest."
I really liked the baby-sitting plot. Young girl goes to a mansion to babysit...well, you'll have to read to find out. Yes, this sort of plot isn't really new, but it could have gone any number of ways, so I didn't lose interest.
There is a very religious theme to this book, so I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as someone who is a religious believer would. What may scare the crap out of someone who believes just falls flat and dull to me. But that is my own experience, and other people will probably like this book much better than I did.
I admire Ms. Cross for making me nauseous in one part. I seldom get queasy reading, no matter how awful the subject matter, but I had to stop at a couple of points because I got light-headed!
I checked the review box that says that there is some sexual content in this book but there really isn't. It doesn't have any sexual scenes, but I rated it "some sexual content" because the protagonist's breasts are involved in a really creepy and icky way and I want people to know that so if they aren't comfortable with a woman's body being harmed in a story they can decide on their own whether to read it or not, but the section of the book that this occurs in a reader can easily skip those few pages and not really miss anything story-wise.
I do feel that the ending was anti-climactic, a bit contrived, and only somewhat satisfying for me. I truly don't know if that is the case for me because I am not a religious believer or if it feels a bit flat and predictable to me because I have read so many other similar endings. If someone is relatively new to horror and is of a religious bent, then I think the book and the ending would be much more effective.
Nonetheless, despite the things I didn't like so much about this book, I still couldn't put it down! I have read about a half dozen of Ms. Cross' books so far and am a die-hard fan. If she gets better editing and has the grammatical errors corrected her books will be so much better! Her ideas are fantastic and I think she will only get better. This is the least favourite book of hers that I have read, but I still don't regret reading it. I am going to start on another of her books tonight. I am THAT hooked on her!
P. S. A minor spoiler observation! I do not believe for one moment that if someone's pelvis is split open that she could sit up, much less breathe and move without such severe pain that she would realistically be incapacitated. I've had my pelvis fractured (a fine line fracture) and I was in such pain that I couldn't breathe without nearly passing out.
Kind of boring and the end wasn't very interesting. I kept hoping it would pick up, but it just didn't. Definitely not my favorite by Amy Cross.
I would have liked a longer read and more depth in the story and the characters. The story was somewhat predictable and there were really too many unanswered questions and not enough detail.
I absolutely love Amy Cross her books are so demented and sick. This one is no different. The plot is very twisted and not for the faint at heart. The ending really surprised me too. I had trouble putting it down. Loved everything about it. Such a great read would love to know how she comes up with this stuff.
I read the blurb and thought it sounded like something else I’d read so I had to give this a go.
